Keane has scored five goals in eight appearances, including what he described as the best first half Spurs have performed on their travels this season (away to Manchester City in midweek).
Keane and Defoe rarely start together. He said: "Of course it was frustrating (before), but it was up to me to work hard on the training pitch and take my chance when I got it."
