The South African international scored a crucial goal against Leicester City on Sunday just minutes after coming on to make his first Spurs appearance. The defender cum midfielder unleashed a rocket in the 73rd minute that flew past former Spurs 'keeper Ian Walker and then ran to the travelling faithful, with delight and passion written across his face. Mabizela, known to the staff at Spurs as 'Old John' or 'OJ' for reasons better known to him, has been rumoured to have had a tough time settling in after his move from Orlando Pirates but his goal yesterday has certainly eased things and he said 'I think this is my first step forward and if I get some more chances I will do better'.
