Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas cannot understand why the Europa League is so undervalued in England.
Villas-Boas?s career took off two years ago when he won the competition with Porto to cap a sensational season during which he won four trophies and replaced Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea. Although that move turned sour, the 34 year-old is still regarded as one of the most promising coaches in Europe. Former manager Harry Redknapp described participating in the tournament as a ?punishment? and, although he was at pains to insist he was not criticising his predecessor, Villas-Boas insists the tournament is greatly undervalued in England.
?The profile of the competition is raised in other countries, but not England. I don?t understand it,? Villas-Boas said.
