David Pleat has hit back at reports claiming that Helder Postiga was set to leave the club in January. Postiga, who is yet to score in a Spurs shirt was reportedly unhappy at being left out of Sunday's game with Middlesbrough. Many fans believed that the former FC Porto striker would be an instant hit and that he would be further up the pecking order than Bobby Zamora due to the fee paid for him and his experience at a high level.

However, Pleat's faith in Zamora paid off last night with his first goal for the club, and it is with that kind of patience that the caretaker boss believes will aid Postiga, 'It will come for him, he is a very strong player for his age...he has got good things in his game, but it takes a while to settle'.

On the subject of selling Postiga just six months after his move from Porto, Pleat said, 'We give everyone time and we're not sellig anybody. We're certainly not selling anybody we don't want to sell'.
