Helder Postiga scored a crucial penalty in his side's shoot-out victory over France at Clermont-Ferrand last night. The two Under 21 sides went into the game vying for a position in the European Championships, with France 2-1 to the good. However, goals from Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo and midfielder Bruno Alves gave the visitors a victory of the same scoreline, which allowed for Extra-Time. However, no side could grab the crucial goal, so penalties ensued. Postiga scored for Portugal, as did three of his team-mates giving Portugal their place in the finals.
