Red Bull Salzburg determined to keep Benjamin Sesko this summer

Red Bull Salzburg insist they have no plans to let young striker Benjamin Sesko leave the club this summer, 90min understands.

The 19-year-old Slovenian starlet has emerged as a possible Newcastle United target, while Tottenham Hotspur and Milan were linked earlier in the transfer window.

However, sources close to Salzburg have told 90min that there are no plans to entertain any offers for Sesko.

Die Roten Bullen sold their prized asset Karim Adeyemi to Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer, and Sesko is seen as the natural replacement for the German star.

Salzburg has become a breeding ground for strikers in recent years with Adeyemi, Erling Haaland and Patson Daka all rising to prominence there, and the Austrian giants believe Sesko is next up.

Having arrived at the club aged 16, the player himself is said to be looking forward to a season leading the line in the Champions League, having served as Adeyemi's back-up last term.

Earlier this month, after being linked with a possible move, he made it clear he did not want to leave the Red Bull Arena this summer.

"That [transfer] won't happen," he told Kronen Zeitung. "I'll definitely stay with Red Bull Salzburg for the whole season, I really like being here."
