Speaking on his personal website, the former Liverpool captain who signed on a free transfer at the tale end of last season, said of how well he is settling in at the club, and how he can't wait for a fresh start.

"La Manga was excellent for me. It gave me a chance to get to know the lads a little bit better and we all got on well."
