Rose joins Spurs

Tottenham announced the signing of Leeds United's Danny Rose this evening. Rose, who has just turned 17, is a naturally left-footed midfielder who has impressed during his performances for England's U-17 squad this year and is widely regarded as one of the most precocious talents outside the premiership.

In February Rose he started two of three games in the Algarve Tournament and then played in all three matches in the European U17 Championship Elite Qualifying Round, scoring against both Bosnia and Azerbaijan. He joins Aaron Lennon in moving from Elland Road to White Hart Lane and fans will hope that he emulates the fleet footed wingers meteoric rise to first team football in the coming seasons.

Meanwhile it is being reported that Atletico Madrid have accepted a £6m offer from Tottenham for the services of Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov. The winger is said to have flown into London for talks.
