Five countries will be represented in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals, with three Spanish clubs among the last eight.

Sevilla were going out on Ukranian soil when their goalkeeper scored to take their Round of 16 tie to extra time, then grabbed a winner. If the holders can beat Spurs in the quarter finals, then they face the prospect of meeting Osasuna at the semi-final stage.

First, the victors of Glasgow Rangers in the last round must take on one of two German sides left in the competition, Bayer Leverkusen, who disposed of Celta Vigo. There is also the real prospect of Tottenham and Leverkusen meeting for the second time. Werder Bremen turned around the deficit at home to eliminate Lens. Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar progressed past Newcastle on the away goals rule, while Benfica benefitted from a last minute penalty to go through at the expense of Paris St Germain.

Martin Jol said: "It is a good thing, we are in the last eight and it is our fifth quarter-final in three seasons so that is something to be proud of."

"You have got to beat the best to get to the final and there is no such thing as an easy draw at this stage."

Sporting Director Damien Comolli added: "I think it is going to be a fantastic tie involving two very attacking sides with great forwards.

"Sevilla have a super ground with a great atmosphere, while we all know what European nights are like at White Hart Lane so it will be very exciting."
