Sherwood exit on cards

Reports have linked Sherwood with a move move away from White Hart Lane and director of football Pleat admitted that Tottenham have had contact from the Scottish outfit, but with Ibrox finances at a premium a player exchange could be on the cards.
Sherwood has failed to make an impression at White Hart Lane under Glenn Hoddle despite making a huge impact after his arrival from Blackburn in February 1999 with a number of crucial goals.
However, the former England international is out of favour under Hoddle and welcome a move to rekindle his career.
Pleat has been quick to point out that Spurs are unwilling to weaken their squad with a host of important games on the horizon but an exchange of players that would take nothing away from Hoddle's resources is a viable alternative.
With Sergei Rebrov's future lying away from north London, any of The Gers' attacking options could be used as part of any deal.
Shota Arveladze, Claudio Caniggia, Billy Dodds, Tore Andre Flo, Michael Mols and Neil McCann are battling for starting spots up front and could be used as bait to take Sherwood to Ibrox with a new midfielder Alex McLeish's priority.
