Martin Jol denied the timing of Jermain Defoe’s contract extension and agreement of new personal terms had anything to do with the latest round of transfer speculation linking the England forward with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
"The report in the paper about Chelsea was just a coincidence," said Jol.
