Daniel Levy has strongly denied comments apparently made regarding the managerial skills of former boss Glenn Hoddle. It had been reported that Pleat joked that people such as cleaners and mothers would fare no worse than Hoddle as Spurs manager. According to Levy, this story has come out of the Australian newspaper, 'Sydney Sun Herald' and the club will be writing to them demanding an apology and has threatened legal action. Levy added, 'David and Glenn spoke recently and both of them wish to see and end to this type of meddling and stirring by the press'.
