In the last few hours it has been confirmed that Charlton and Tottenham have come to an agreement over a fee for Darren Bent, believed to be in the region of £16m. The player will have a medial tomorrow and looks set to agree personal terms this evening.

It is also being reported that the club are set to spend yet more money on Chelsea pair Shaun Wright-Phillips and Lassana Diarra. Shaun Wright-Phillips, 24, has long been rumoured to be a favourite of Martin Jol's, with the Dutchman seemingly keen to bolster his options on the wing. Diarra, signed from French Lique 2 club Le Havre in July 2005, is the more obscure of the two rumours. After being hailed as the successor to Claude Makelele's crown at Stamford Bridge and it remains to been whether Jose Mourinho would want to dispense with his services or what he would bring to the current Spurs side.
