The Tottenham lineup that should start against Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur will host champions Liverpool on Thursday in north London, as they look to pile on the misery for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Spurs moved into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a win over Wycombe Wanderers, while Liverpool crashed out following an entertaining tie with rivals Manchester United.

With the Reds having failed to win six of their last seven in all competitions and not scoring in any of their last four Premier League games, Jose Mourinho will be keen for his Tottenham side to attack the wounded champions and get all three points under their belts.

With four wins in their last five games, Mourinho has some decisions to make with some of his fringe players in good form. Here's a look at the lineup that should start to give Tottenham the best chance of winning the game.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - The undisputed first choice goalkeeper got a rest in the cup and will be back in the side for this one.

Serge Aurier (RB) -
Aurier's performances have seen a big improvement since the arrival of Matt Doherty in the summer and he will keep his place in the side here.

Toby Alderweireld (CB) -
Should return to the side for this game after being replaced by Joe Rodon for the Sheffield United win.

Eric Dier (CB) -
Seems to be Mourinho's first choice centre back and his performances in recent weeks have shown why. Midfield experience makes him comfortable on the ball and will be useful against Liverpool's high press.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) -
One of the best left-backs in the league this season, his fantastic delivery and pace make him more than useful at both ends of the pitch.

2. Midfielders

Harry Winks (CM) - The young England man performed well at Wycombe and has started two of the last three games. Mourinho name-checked him after the FA Cup and that should see him get another start.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) -
Spurs' best midfielder this season, his tackling, reading of the game and passing range have been among the best in the division this year. Must start.

Tanguy Ndombele (CAM) -
After a torrid start to life in north London, Ndombele is one of the first names on the team sheet these days and has scored three goals in his last two appearances. Will be a threat against a faltering Liverpool side.

3. Forwards

Moussa Sissoko (RW) - This is still a Jose Mourinho team, so lets not go crazy. Sissoko has been a key figure for Spurs this season and his role out wide would provide energy and some extra defensive support.

Harry Kane (ST) -
The best striker in the league, maybe the world, Kane starts for any and every team he plays for.

Heung-min Son (LW) -
Maybe the most in-form winger in Europe right now, Son's partnership with Kane this season has produced so many goals that it's impossible to leave him out.
