The Tottenham Lineup That Should Start Against West Ham

Tottenham host West Ham on Sunday in the Premier League, with Jose Mourinho's side looking to continue from where they left off prior to the international break.

Spurs ended with a busy week, which saw victories against Chelsea, Maccabi Haifa and a stunning 6-1 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford. Mourinho's side now face West Ham in a London derby, with the Hammers on a good run of form.

Mourinho has since confirmed Eric Dier is a doubt for the game due to a minor injury picked up on international duty, whilst Giovani Lo Celso withdrew from the Argentina squad with an injury and will not be available.

Here's the lineup Mourinho should pick on Sunday.

Goalkeeper and Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - The Tottenham goalkeeper has been first choice since his arrival at the club in 2012. That isn't ending here.

Matt Doherty (RB) - This would usually be a straightforward decision, but Serge Aurier's impressive display against Manchester United has given Mourinho something to think about. Mourinho does, however, trust Doherty to be disciplined, something that is important in a derby.

Toby Alderweired (CB) - The Belgian has been in and out of Tottenham's lineup since Eric Dier made the switch from defensive midfield, but the Englishman's absence for this game will likely pave the way for Alderweireld to start.

Davinson Sanchez (CB) - The centre-back offers more pace than Alderweired and Dier, so is often utilised alongside one of Spurs' other centre-backs to compliment them. Against West Ham, this will be key.

Sergio Reguilon (LB) - Very impressive in his first two games against Chelsea and Manchester United. The Spaniard has bundles of energy to get up and down the left flank, as well as delivering good crosses into attacking areas.

Midfielders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CDM) - The summer signing has been a welcome addition to Spurs' midfield trio, offering solid defensive security, which has allowed the likes of Tanguy Ndombele more attacking freedom.

Moussa Sissoko (CM) - With Lo Celso set to miss out, Moussa Sissoko could be in contention for a starting place. The powerful midfielder could slot right in for the derby, with his driving runs linking defence to attack - something Lo Celso often does.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM) - It's becoming very exciting. Spurs fans are starting to see just how good the Frenchman can be following a flurry of convincing performances, which suggest his revival is underway. Ndombele wasn't selected in the France squad, so should be fresh for West Ham.

Forwards

Gareth Bale (RW) - There. We said it. Mourinho has told the media the Welshman will 'probably' play against West Ham, but it is unclear as to whether he will start or be introduced from the bench. Bale didn't go away with Wales for international duty, and instead worked on his fitness (and jump shot) at Hotspur Way.

Harry Kane (ST) - The striker reportedly complained of muscle fatigue whilst on international duty with England, but did play in the recent fixture against Denmark. Mourinho has confirmed the Englishman will start on Sunday against West Ham.

Heung-min Son (LW) - Fresh off a brace at Old Trafford, Son has been in incredible form so far this season. The South Korean has been combining efficiently with Kane, and adding Bale to this mix is a mouthwatering prospect.
