Tottenham begin contract talks with Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have opened contract talks with striker Harry Kane amid interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Kane, who is under contract until 2024, has recently been linked with a £90m move to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the summer, with City bracing themselves for the inevitable departure of Sergio Aguero.

According to The Independent, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is wary of letting the rumours grow too much and he wants to ensure that Kane is fully happy at the club by tying him down to yet another new contract.

An initial line of dialogue has been opened, and while no real progress has been made just yet, Kane is said to be open to the idea of committing his future to Spurs once again.

Kane's biggest demand is that Spurs remain competitive for trophies, and Levy hopes to make it clear to the 27-year-old that they can remain in the mix for silverware as long as Kane is in the team. Talks will likely focus around that point, particularly with four-time Premier League winners City circling.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest - a link which almost certainly stems from their appointment of former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.

PSG are thought to see Kane as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe if he leaves for Real Madrid, but he is not the only Spurs player on the radar of the French side.

Foot Mercato claim that midfielder Dele Alli could be on his way to the Parc des Princes after Pochettino held talks directly with the Englishman's camp to try and figure out what is going on in his career.

Dele, who was heavily linked with PSG back in the summer as well, is thought to be keen on a reunion with Pochettino in France as he sees the boss as the perfect man to help get his stalling career back on track.

Of the pair of players, Dele appears far more likely to leave the club in the near future, and Spurs now seem to be working to ensure that Kane remains at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for the foreseeable future.
