Tottenham Preparing A Bid for Liverpool Target

Spurs? sporting director Franco Baldini was in Switzerland to watch the 21-year old in Champions League action against Chelsea on Tuesday, where the Egyptian scored the 87th minute winner in the 1-0 victory against the Blues.

Dubbed the ?Egyptian Messi?, he has been linked with Liverpool for a potential January transfer but Tottenham are now ready to make a formal approach for the Egyptian international.

Spurs? boss Andre Villas-Boas has been struggling to find a replacement for Gareth Bale this season with Nacer Chadli and Erik Lamela failing to step up to the challenge and suffering a very disappointing season.

The humiliating 6-0 loss against Manchester City was enough to prove that Tottenham need to bring in new talent and hope to White Hart Lane and therefore are hoping to add Chelsea-conqueror Salah to their lineup.

The Egyptian has been getting a lot of interest from Premier League teams Tottenham and Liverpool but has also caught the eye of clubs in Germany.

Salah has scored twice against Chelsea this season and in a man-of-the-match performance, he gave Ashley Cole a hard run for the full 90 minutes.

What you need to know about Mohamed Salah:

By the age of 19, he had represented his country at every level, including senior level. He especially impressed during the most recent Olympic games where he scored three goals in four appearances and as a result got he nickname the ?Egyptian Messi?. By that time, he was already a Basel man.

He was brought in to replace Xherdan Shaqiri who was leaving the Swiss side for Bayern Munich. With a lot of pressure on the 19-year old boy who didn?t speak anything but Arabic, he immediately impressed. He had an instant impact on the field, making him a go-to-guy for Basel. And the rest as they say, is history.
