Tottenham Reject Juventus' Proposed Tanguy Ndombele & Aaron Ramsey Swap Deal

Tottenham have rejected a surprise swap deal offer from Juventus, involving midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

With the financial constraints placed on clubs as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, players trading places could become all the range this summer.

Juventus have already pulled off the first exchange of the summer, with Arthur Melo moving to Turin from Barcelona and Miralem Pjanic plus cash going in the opposite direction.

Juventus have had their ambitious approach for Ndombele turned down

Now, the Telegraph claim the Serie A champions have had their second proposed swap deal of the summer turned down by Tottenham. Juve are said to have expressed an interest in Ndombele, but were informed that Spurs' record signing is in Jose Mourinho's plans - despite starting just three Premier League games since the turn of the year.

The report continues by stating that La Vecchia Signora were 'open' to swapping Ramsey for Ndombele, but Spurs have no interest in agreeing to such a proposition.

It's a sad turn of events for Ramsey, who has only been in Italy for one season. He signed a four-year deal last summer after spending 11 years with Tottenham's rivals Arsenal, penning a deal worth an estimated £400,000-per-week.

But he's struggled to recapture the form that earned him a move to Juventus in the first place, featuring just 18 times in Serie A this season, finding the net on three occasions. The 29-year-old has also failed to start a game since Italian football resumed in June.

Juventus are yet to see the best of Ramsey

Ndombele, meanwhile, joined Spurs in a club record £53.8m deal last summer, but he's struggled to live up to his price tag thus far and has endured a rocky relationship with Mourinho.

The Portuguese boss publicly criticised the 23-year-old's performance after hauling him off at half time against Burnley in March, though he has recently backed Ndombele to turn his Spurs career around - citing the success of Luka Modric at Real Madrid after the Croatian midfielder endured a tough first six months in the Spanish capital.
