We have to pull together - Hoddle

Spurs play Coventry in front of the watching public on Sky Sports in the Carling Cup this week in a game that could ultimately decide Hoddle's future.

"The cup game must be a turning point," said Hoddle. "We have got to lift ourselves for that game, it's as simple as that.

"I have been in football long enough to know there are turning points. We have to pull together, keep working and show the character to turn it around.

"When the pressure is on you have to show character and bottle and you have to rise to the challenge and I believe we have got players with enough talent to do just that."

"The crowd were absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere before the game was tremendous and they stayed with the team. I know how they feel because I love this club so much that I also feel frustrated and hurt.

"The main thing is if we were 20 games into the season it might be different but there have only been six games and we are in need of a turning point.

"We had a meeting after the game and will have another one on Monday and we will work together. The spirit is good and I believe we have the talent and the time to get over these problems."
