Ziege was replaced by David Galbraith after 35 minutes of the 3-2 friendly win at Adams Park with what Hoddle considers to be a reaction to the thigh injury that kept him sidelined for the last four months of last season.

"It was a little bit disappointing that we had to bring him off," Hoddle told the club's official website.

"It's nothing major and not a fresh injury but there are still problems to overcome.

"The surgeon said there would be a few problems to overcome mentally and physically.

"As it was such an intense operation, some of the nerves were cut and that he's not used to the sensation he got at Wycombe. Fingers crossed he'll be okay though."
