Spurs 1 Brum 0

A very welcome 3 points for Spurs going into the International break.

The game itself was pretty dour especially in the 1st half and was only lit up by an outstanding Jermain Defoe effort.

Things livened up in the 2nd half where Spurs bossed the first 30mins only for Brum to go all out for an equaliser in the last 15(Tense time for Spurs fans) and created a couple of decent chances which resulted in a clearance off the line, apart from this Robinson did not have a solitary save to make.

This was the first time this season that Spurs looked comfortable in the 1st half, all the other games we have tended to struggle to the break and then improved in the 2nd half after Jacques words of wisdom, so encouraging from that aspect.

Brum as expected started packed out the midfield and played with one up front(Heskey was sitting just in front of their midfield, Forssell was the out and out striker, nullifying any creativity unless the ball broke to either Clemence or Gronkjaer.

Same story for Spurs mainly JJ & Keane.

Last season these tactics would have worked quite comfortably & we would have been overrun in midfield, this season it’s a little bit different and we are getting quite competitive in that area

The ref Mr Clattenburg” had an absolute howler of a game overriding the linesman, awarding Brum some pretty dubious corners and getting major decisions wrong especially professional fouls, elbows and penalties etc, Spurs fans will be glad to see the back of him for a while.

Tellingly Steve Bruce in the post match interview thought he was marvellous and got all the decisions correct, television replays show otherwise, Steve also bewilderingly thought that Brum “Dominated” Spurs throughout, cant have been at the same match as me then as all I saw was a workman like performance from both teams(New word for Spurs fans).

Opta Stats show on target efforts, Spurs 3 - Brum 1, says it all really.

(Neither keeper made a save worthy of the name)
