Another bad PR move

Last updated : 29 June 2013 By Hoggg

As with most PR tricks this one failed spectacularly. This is a player that failed to make any appearances for the first team and was loaned out shortly after his purchase (approximately 5 months). After two failed loans to lower divisions Khumalo finally made a move to a team that could give him the games needed to show his worth. POAK took the South African Captain on a season long loan, where he managed to make 22 appearances.

For me this was a big mistake (signing the guy in the first place), at least it was not a costly mistake like Bentley or Rebrov, but still money is money and no team can afford to waste it.

At the age of 26 the defender has plenty of time to turn his career around, but sadly I do not feel that he has what it takes to cut it in Europe.

Many clubs buy these types of players to boost their support in foreign countries, but for me its a pointless exercise. Do charity work in the foreign country or buy a player that warrants a place in the team!

Khumalo returns to Spurs shortly and his agent has already turned down a return to the South African league. For me I believe he has stepped right out of his comfort zone and made too big a step too quickly. At least he has managed to showcase in Greece this season.

For his and our sake I hope we agree a deal to sell the player and free up some funds and a space in the squad (its not like we will ever use him).

COYS!!!
