Another battle won, but the war for Champs League is not finished

A great goal by Luka last night began what was to be a memorable night as we have now beaten Bolton at the Reebok stadium for the first time in the premier league! Luka looked sharp pulling the strings and Sandro did well (not great) but provided a good guard between the midfield and defense.

Bale was actually noticeable last night, not with the fact that he had 2 assists, but more that he was making runs and getting involved in the general build up play. Still looking a little lazy, but maybe I am being harsh and that he is being marked too tightly.

I think that we were lucky in the build up to Modric's goal (so maybe our luck has changed a little)? If this is the case it certainly is luck that we are due as we have had many a bad decision against us or not given, but thats life I guess.

Our defence was not solid, but showed signs that it is capable of holding its own under pressure. Benni being out had concerned me, but Danny Rose has looked quite solid and linked up well with Bale (maybe he is able to adapt his game to left back from Midfield as Gareth had from left back to left midfield). Gallas was looking as if he is getting back to proper match fitness, but Kaboul and Walker were impressive. Walker had managed to keep the tricky Petrov in his back pocket for most of the game, which cut Bolton's supply down dramatically.

Despite a small lapse where we allowed Reo Coker in to equalise just after the kick off of the second half, I was actually impressed that we countered well, Manu looked hungry (would have liked for him to have got his hat-trick) and Rafa has been looking a constant threat.

The one shock for me was Chelsea's loss to Newcastle. I am not going to argue that Chelsea may have put out a weakened team though as Cisse's goals, the first was unstoppable but the second.... well definitely goal of the season. It could be now that with the massive confidence in their side Newcastle will have a say in the title, in my opinion I can see them getting a draw. In terms of Chelsea's season I can only see it getting worse, I think a finish outside the top 4 and are set to lose against Bayern Munich in the final.

All in all a good night of football and a great result to boost the team for what I believe to be the more difficult out of the games we had left prior to last night. Predictions though are simple, Aston Villa 0-2 Spurs and Fulham 1-2 Spurs. I can't see a big fight from Villa, but I can see the Fulham game being a hard fought win.

Well done for last night lads, lets have more of it on Sunday
