Another time to strengthen, Spurs weaken

Last updated : 27 January 2016 By Hoggg

One minute MoPo is saying that he will promote a youth striker rather than bring in a "professional" and days later Shaq (debated to be one of the best youth strikers) and he is sold off? Then Andros (ok the guy's caused his own problems) is being sold off to Newcastle.

What is confusing is that Spurs are in prime position to push for a title bid with just 5 points off the top, but yet no one at Spurs are willing to use common sense and buy the 2 players that are desperately required.

A second striker is needed to support Kane. Pato has been signed on a loan... so why ignore such a talent? Pelle is available from Southampton (after the signing of Austin), again why not look for a striker?

A defender is now required as Wimmer is the only cover for Jan (who could be out for essentially the rest of the season)!

I realise that we do not have to spend big, but at the same time why are the club making the same mistakes as always? When will they learn?

Every January I am having to write about the poor management of strengthening the squad?

One day Levy and Co will come to the realisation that they need to strengthen at the right time and this is an opportune time.

The likes of Palace have bought well, Leceister are looking at bringing in Eder from Sampdoria, Remy wishes to go out on loan, so why not use some common sense?

It's imperative that the squad is strengthened and now. I can guarantee Spurs will not win the league unless these 2 players are signed.

I really do hope that the team do the right thing and push onwards and upwards with the full support of Levy&Co.
