AVB needs to concentrate on the GAME!

Yesterday's draw was again clouded by AVB's arrogance, which frustrates me! He should have been ignoring the comments from others and instead using it as fuel to let his results do the talking.

In professional football all involved must understand that everyone wants to stick their opinion down everyone's throat. At Chelsea AVB lost his fight and came away looking like a child pointing the blame everywhere but himself. At Tottenham he has slipped back into this frame of mind.

Before I go any further I wish to point out that yes some of the things said about AVB were unfair (and I do not necessarily agree with them), but in football you have to be able to take any kind of criticism on the chin and not allow it to detract you or your team from their goals.

Being a young manager I can understand why AVB feels he has something to prove (more so with the Chelsea era hanging over him), but making public retaliations, just turn everything into a circus that the media will certainly lap up.

If AVB spent more time talking his team up and preparing them for an up and coming game we would see an improvement.

Although he must also install some respect into his players. Our players should not be voicing their concerns about not playing or playing in the right position, as again this is for selfish gratification. Vertonghen was the fist player stupid enough to do, but later retracted his quotes. We need to see the team fighting for each other, showing the respect.

When the team is down yes they do not need further negativity, but they must expect it. The difference is as a professional they must take it and use it to push themselves on.

For me AVB could be the right manager for the team, he could get the best out of the players, but he must concentrate on the game, not the whispers.

On the flip side I feel that the reporters at the Daily Mail and Alan Sugar had it coming, however it would have been better coming from a player to defend AVB (which again would have highlighted that the team are behind him).

I'm sure Spurs will begin to turn around under AVB following that performance, but AVB needs to grow up and ignore whatever personal "attacks" are printed in the press.
