Bale Reflection

Last updated : 04 September 2013 By Hoggg

I had seen him as a youngster play for Southampton and was lucky enough to see him progress whilst just football was on the mind. For some reason there is confusion as to how Bale started )position wise) and it was in fact as a left midfielder, so it was only natural once his talents came out that he went back to his natural position.

He was a talent without a doubt and when Tottenham signed him I was delighted (although I knew it would take time to adjust).

Bale grew into such a player and I can honestly say that I had spoken with a few direct sources and there seemed to have been a time when Bale didn't want to leave (even with Madrid and Perez attempting to tap him up). As to what changed though I really cannot say, but it seems a regular deal with Madrid (oh wait maybe its the £34 a minute he is reportedly on).

I do not think that Bale will make such an immediate impact although there will be pressure for it from the fans. The style of play will take some getting used to and I wish that Bale had of listened to the common sense passed down through the likes of Rush and Hoddle.

However for me Bale managed to sour my relationship with him. I noticed that he thanks Tottenham as a whole as he did Southampton, but I did not see such a thank you to us fans. This disappoints me. He would rather comment on how he expects the fans to understand his decision. This does baffle me and as much as I want to view him as a Campbell and forget about him I really just can't. I will not forgive his behaviour toward the fans (we deserved more), but we must truly remember what he gave us, what he did in some games and just look back at how spectacular our team seemed with Bale in it.

I know we look different without him, but it's not like the Berbatov departure now is it?

I do wish Bale well, but for footballing reasons only not for the connection that was there, I still believe he owes us something and now being in Madrid I fear we will never get it. To make something clear I hope people do not interpret this in a vulgar fashion as voicing an opinion is different to asking fans to join together and send mass abuse. No player deserves this and especially not one that had given 100% when playing for us.

On the biggest plus possible I will never forget that one player gave us the opportunity to sign so many great players, a big thank you is owed on that to Bale, Levy and Baldini.

COYS!!!!!
