Corinthians fail in bid to keep Paulinho

Paulinho is keen to tie up his deal following the finish of the Confederation Cup tomorrow.

The Brazilian made it abundantly clear that he wants to tie up his move as quickly as possible.

Let's face it once your team accepts an offer for you (and it is from a team you want to move to), you're not going to hang around longer than you have to.  Corinthians put themselves in a bad position to start and allowed the negotiations to be completed quickly. If they were that desperate to keep the player until a certain date they should have agreed this in the first place.

Either way for us Spurs fans it's a similar position to the Vertonghen deal. All seemed agreed, but it has taken a lot longer than expected. I know the guy is playing in the Confederations Cup, but his agent could have handled it all and handed the player the contract to sign.

This will see the start of the promised purchases from Levy to Bale and we shall see the further needed purchases roll in.

Next up is believed to be David Villa, but I still do not want a striker that turns 32 in December (he may be a quick fix), we need some younger players to grow into the team (we are past the Harry era are we not?).

COYS!!!
