Cup success or complete failure

Last updated : 25 February 2015 By Hoggg

For the best 11 to play Thursday and Sunday surely it would be suicide? But it would then be deciding which cup benefits more. Worse is that the League Cup is a final (so just one more game).

The difficulty came following the very poor 1-1 draw at WHL last week.

If you start your best 11 on Thursday you have to imagine that those players cannot feature on Sunday, but to leave a player out of a cup final poses its own problem. Will the players be up for the Europa as much as a cup final.

This week will show MoPo's strength as a manager as he will either get Tottenham knocked out of both and face complete failure or will have to choose which game to concentrate on.

For me I said it earlier in the week, but last Thursday is where full concentration should have been given and for the team to go all out, however we saw back to back lack lustre performances (2nd half against Fiorentina through to the West Ham game). With this in mind I question do Spurs have the capability to win the Europa, if so you cannot field the best 11 for 2 games within 4 days. Admittingly Spurs played Utd on the 28th drew 0-0 at home than 5 days later face Chelsea at home to win 5-3, but still it was an extra day to rest and Chelsea have another 3 days rest on compared to last time.

Hopefully this does not come out as a rant, but more of an issue deciding the importance of each game.

Fingers crossed we will see another defensive display in both games from the Tottenham back 4 for Kane and Eriksen to step up with late goals to seal the win.
