Have the flood gates opened

Last night we saw a sight for sore eyes. A striker of Spurs scoring a hat trick! Even better it was Roberto Soldado!

The first goal was not amazing in terms of skill, but it was technically brilliant. Pomazan was completely unaware of Soldado as he forced his way in front of his marker and got the deadliest of flicks onto a Sigurdsson free kick to lift the ball out of the keepers reach and onto the back post to deflect in.

It was as if a huge cloud was lifted in the stands last night. There was talk on going past the cheers that erupted as the ball bounced in. The second goal following great work from Lamela saw the ball cut through the defence to where Soldado had planned his run, one touch and a quick shot across goal. It was his goal of the night. Pomazan had no chance and nor would any other keeper.

Finally anew hot prospect Fredericks won a penalty and Soldado slotted it away calmly to complete his hat trick.

There were other chances for the player to score, however I believe 3 is enough to get the player back on track brimming with confidence for the next game.

It just so happens that we need a striker full of confidence to play against Liverpool.

However I would not isolate Soldado up front, I would partner him with Defoe. I think that with Soldado's play it will only benefit us to have Defoe playing alongside him. We have seen the Soldado is capable of creating space in the box to then pass it off to a man left unmarked.

Before people cry yes 4-4-2 it's what we need, I still believe in a 3-5-2, operating with 2 wing backs.

Liverpool are a completely different animal compared to Anzhi, but Roberto has all the confidence now to take that into the game and do it again.

Problem is whether AVB will make the right selections for Sunday.

Again I did not rate Sigurdsson, he luckily got the free kick right and other than that I do not see what he added to the game (he and Friedel are my only changes for Sunday).

Let's have more of it Roberto, let the floodgates open now and show up that cheating rat Suarez (yes I say that as I am completely jealous of him at the moment and he has made a noticeable effort to calm himself).

COYS!!!!
