Is Danny Rose the cover we need on the left?
Since making a move on the deadlines final hours was a surprise to a lot of player, but it is a move that is working well for our youngsters. Walker, Naughton and Caulker have all gone out to play for another premier league side to then show what a player they are capable of being.
Danny Rose has been another success on this front. So far this season Danny has received some rave reviews from the Sunderland faithful (which is not something I usually pay attention to), but he has now been receiving rave reviews from commentators, team mates and his manager.
So it leads me back to the question of whether he is the right cover? I don't know about being cover as it seems that it is consistency that Danny needs to build on his game, being used as a substitute wouldn't work (so I would say we are better off letting him stay at Sunderland for the season). At the end of the season he will have had a full seasons experience and would well be worth a place in the squad.
Makes you wonder whether we should try this with Townsend and Livermore?
