So lets look at the EPL only for Top scorers. Costa leads, followed by Aguero, Austin, Sanchex and then Kane.However taking all other competitions into account Kane has scored more than any of them.
So if Kane is scoring in all competitions surely it makes him the better striker? Not quite but he is younger than any of the forementioned players so he has time on his hands for further improvement.
But lets go one stage further and look at how he compares to Tottenhams top goal scorers.
In order to become the best goals scorer in a season for Spurs he must look at some BIG names to compete against.
Clive Allen is our all time top goal scorer with 49 goals in a season, Martin Chivers with 42, Gary Lineker with 35, Mark Falco and Jurgen Klinsmann with 29. However all bar Lineker and Klinsmann these were players outside of the Premier League.
So 35 is the magic number to beat. In the past decade our top goal scorer is of course none othe than that Welsh Wizard Gareth Bale with 26 goals. Looking at this I firmly believe that Kane can be our best goal scorer in the past decade or maybe since Lineker. Another 10 goals from Kane and he is our second best striker in the Premier League. Given that Spurs are still in 2 cups and there are 13 league games left I do not see why this isn't possible.
Either way if this is the start of it for Kane then the only way is up and its won't be long before we see Kane pushing beyond our best ever goals per season in the premier league!
