Moutinho was ready to join and Porto happy to slide down on the asking price of £30million to £22million.
It was not a big ask with plenty of time in the day when the fee was agreed. As to whether Moutinho was in the country is yet to be known, but fans will be exceptionally annoyed that Levy had his chance and passed it up.
AVB will not be as happy as can be with his top target being allowed to slip away with Levy, but he can at least rest assured that he has a great keeper with Lloris and has a replacement with Dempsey in for VDV.
I for one am disappointed and yet to let all news settle in before I can really say how I feel on these market dealings.
