Lloris's Loyalty?

Last updated : 12 February 2014 By Hoggg

However things have got a whole lot worse, in my opinion.

Oliver Giroud has come out and said;

“We go out together and talk about everything," Giroud told French TV.

"We talk about life and sometimes the French team a bit and our wish to have a great experience together at the World Cup.

"Have I asked him (Lloris) to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo (Laurent Koscielny). He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question."

My concern is not that Giroud has said this, but that Lloris had not replied to this until now.

He told the official website: "I heard about that (Giroud's interview). I think maybe some words were twisted, but it is embarrassing. I don't think that, I'm very focused on Spurs' ambition and I am very pleased to play for Spurs.

"I have too much respect for the club and the Spurs fans to think that kind of thing. Of course I know him very well because we are team-mates in the national team - the same with Laurent Koscielny - but I am a Spurs player and I'm very proud to play here."

The recent piece of news followed by the hinting at moving in the summer made one big mess. However the club and player have moved quickly to quash the twisted words.

Some may feel that it would never happen, some say he could move to Arsenal, but for me I would rather just hear from my club and the player that he will not be leaving to the rival’s.

We have had numerous high profile moves between Tottenham and Arsenal, however would any be as high profile in terms of a transfer with a fee? Sol was a free agent, Jennings was thought to be past it, but for Lloris to go it would not only take a hefty sum, it would be the worst mistake in the history. You have to look back to the transfers of Cox (1949) and Robertson (1968) where Tottenham made huge mistakes (not including Jennings).

Who else can you remember making the move from Tottenham to Arsenal that was a bad piece of business for Tottenham?
