Firstly we have Lazio. The Italians have really made themselves look bad in the world of football with numerous racist probes, but Lazio should have been kicked out of the Europa League with the first bout of racism, not been given a chance to then make it worse and for a fan to be brutally attacked!
In situations like this it is important that FIFA and UEFA step in (they are supposed to protect everyone involved in the game). Lazio were quick to state that it was a Roma fan that did this, but strict punishment must come in to stop anything like this happening again. If Lazio are not banned from Europe how is that the stupid fans are truly effected? Whether you are talking about fans in the UK, Europe or the world, there are some fans that don't care about anything but their team. Fines, Court Cases, Shamed in public or even prison doesn't have the effect required.
A ban for the club will stop this from happening again. Hit these fools where it hurts! Look at the Euro's and the joke that UEFA should never have given them the chance to host the tournament! Now they have to step up and sort this mess out!
To make matters worse the West Ham fans thought it clever to sing further chants about our poor fan that was lucky to survive! Once again I feel that the only approach is for the FA to deduct points, something that effects the club that these die hard fans support.
This may be to the detriment of the other good fans out there, but how else do you stand up against them? The larger peaceful and playful fans will eventually turn against them, the players will and most importantly would have no choice but to change (if they want to come to the games).
I'm not saying that we are all perfect other than those little groups of fans, but with idiots like Herbert trying to concentrate on ridiculous chants about Tottenham fans calling themselves Yids we cannot allow those sorts of clowns to destroy the game that we ALL love (just some a little bit too much). Kick it all out of the game other than the passion that it deserves!
