Sherwood struggling

The players are capable of competing against the best, but yet fans are yet to see a good level of football consistently.

Some of the players came out to back AVB and state that they were behind him, but did nothing to show their support on the pitch. Again they have shown their backing for Sherwood, but have yet to truly show it out there.

Players can argue that the pitch was off, the ref was against them, but it simply does not excuse the poor performance that has been showcased and worse at home!

As a Tottenham fan yes I was exceptionally angry by Levy & Co’s failure to strengthen in the obvious area’s and more angered that Sherwood was told to state he didn’t need anyone, but forgetting what we need to do to strengthen in transfers, it’s how we can strengthen with the squad we have.

As a person Tim is one of the lads, he loves a laugh but will get in amongst the team and get his hands dirty. This is great in an attempt to close the gap that many managers have with their players, but it is doing no favours when it comes to getting the best out of the players.

After two disgraceful displays (Dnipro and Norwich) you cannot ignore that the players on that pitch should have walked those games (on paper). I do not mean to disrespect Norwich or Dnipro, but even they know it is true.

Back to my point though, when will the fans see Sherwood grasp the managerial reigns and get a consistent level of football from the whole team?

We can blame the manager, but he lacks experience, we can blame Levy, but he felt he had no choice, but should we really be blaming the players? Not individually but as a whole. With the best players in the world some managers struggle to get the best out of their players, but surely those players should be giving their all? If you are all singing from the same hymn sheet surely it would work?

Tottenham seem to be in a similar spiral as Sunderland... a new manager comes in and does well, but cannot sustain a consistent level and it points back to the players, so with a lack of experience the issues come back up faster than with a seasoned professional.

I cannot blame Tim it would be unfair, Levy & Co must take some responsibility, but the majority lies with the players!
