Spurs must light up the Lane!

Tonight in the Europa League the team has an opportunity to begin ANOTHER turn around and build on two games that should EASILY be won against Dnipro tonight and Cardiff on Sunday.

The importance of this is higher than ever with games against Chelsea away followed by Arsenal at home next and we finish the month off with Liverpool away! It is the most difficult month with any chance of a top 4 finish clearly on the line this month.

If the team fail to produce tonight it will surely be another struggle against another poorly playing premier league team on Sunday which will do nothing for the team’s confidence.

Sherwood is struggling at the moment, any expert would agree that Sherwood does not have the full support of the team and if he did.... we would all be looking at a different team right now.

Defoe is out of tonight’s game (and will say goodbye at half time), along with Rose and Capoue, however Walker and Sandro may figure.

Being at home we have to go all out to produce a huge result to appease the fans and build on the team’s confidence.

So for me Ade and Soldado must be used up front to produce first half goal (they can both be subbed off at half time should we not wish to risk them too much). As to who Sherwood will risk who knows, but a large score line in our favour tonight will give the team the push for the important game against Cardiff. So 2 wins under the belt are imperative. If the team and Sherwood fail tonight it will be a bad March without a doubt.

Sherwood talks about character and tonight it is him that will be tested more than anyone. Sherwood has players that like him, but do not respect him. As a player he may have won the premiership, but he was not a legend to warrant instant respect. So with respect and experience missing it is going to be a huge struggle to get the best out of the team.

Players want to play for a manager, look at time under Harry, he had the team’s confidence at it’s highest and the players felt unstoppable. Under AVB there was no true belief, however Bale did enough to drag the team through last season. Now they have a capable squad, with no leadership and no inspiration from a rookie manager is hard to imagine a great season if things do not change.

Let’s just hope that Sherwood is sensible and goes for the jugular tonight as fans and players alike need it now more than ever.

Let’s do our best to forget about the poor performances of recent , take the pressure off of Sherwood and let’s see whether the team can grow a pair and play like true footballers, not just players in it for the money!

COYS!!!
