Targets not coming in

Roberto Soldado is one player that is staying at Valencia. One person jumped the gun on how my article on him staying in Valencia was wrong, but if they waited they would have seen the obvious. In case you are not aware here it is:

Valencia have a new president that will pull off a feat to redirect their debts, this means that the big names that they may have had to have sold, can now be kept on and continue to play (if they want to stay). Soldado has made it clear that he wishes to stay in Valencia and help them re-achieve their Champions League status.

Bernard has made it clear that he does not wish to leave Mineiro, but would leave if the club wishes to sell him. In my thoughts the reason we have missed out on him is that his name is plastered across the internet now. Every club will be looking at how his situation pans out, but unlikely not until the end of July after the tournament. If you add to this that he has been advised not to come to England, a transfer to any of the EPL looks unlikely.

Moutinho has moved already to Monaco so no point in dwelling on this.

Lukaku has stated he would not leave for a rival of Chelsea (however this could change should Chelsea accept a bid)

These are 4 players that we may not have necessarily signed (due to costs), but they are players that we could have done with. Although Bernard potentially could come to WHL I have to count this out and Lukaku would essentially go where Chelsea tell him.

All of the above players would make a good addition to the side, but the first 3 would been a great addition. We must be more careful about our dealings and learn from our past mistakes. Moutinho we knew about his ownership issues before opening advanced talks, so that cannot be used as an excuse. When we attempted to land Damiao for the 3rd time (for it to break down due to ownership), again we knew this prior to advanced talks. We should act faster and press harder (like our style on the pitch) to ensure we don't give the other side the chance to change anything!

Ok it is all easier said than done and in the fans mind even easier than I suggest, but we have to be sensible and do things the right way. So let's hurry up get Baldini in and tie up these deals that have been dragging on for years!
