The end for Andros?

However Townsend has now seen action by the FA.

Townsend has been given a four-month ban after alledgedly breaching betting regulations.

The 21 yr old, was charged regarding betting and misconduct last month.

Townsend has been fined a whooping £18,000 although 3 of the 4 month ban has been suspended until 1 July 2016.

A statement on the Football Association's website read: "At an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Tottenham Hotspur's Andros Townsend was suspended from all football and football activity for a period of four months, subject to any appeal, backdated to the 23 May 2013 when the player voluntarily withdrew from the England Under-21 squad.

"However, three months of the suspension is suspended until 1 July 2016 and will be automatically invoked upon a proven breach of The FA Betting Rules during that period.

"Townsend, who was also fined £18,000, was charged for breaches of FA Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting, which he admitted and requested a personal hearing."

To me this is bizarre. He has not been found guilty, but yet he has been fined and 1 of the 4 months ban stands at present. How is this possible? Surely an investigation 1. does not take this long and 2. surely the evidence is there or not?

The FA are not in their right mind on this one if you ask me. There must be sufficient evidence to impose a ban in the first place along with a fine, so why is this not being dealt with at source?

Either way this is a bad omen for us as the youngster had spent a great second half of the season on loan at QPR. It was expected that the 21yr old would break into the squad next season, but after this has he sealed his fate?

Well we shall have to wait and see what the club say and whether they are supporting him or not, which will obviously show their intentions to keep or sell him.

What are your thoughts? Although before casting judgement remember we actually do not know what he has done as it is all alledgely!
