Tottenham Legal Battle

In a move deemed heavy-handed Tottenham Football Club contacted the Non League side via solicitors and ordered them to change their crest.

The Spurs crest shows a cockerel stood on top of a football, where the Fleet Spurs have an identical cockerel with a difference of the feet being on display and stood next to a football.

Fleet Spurs were founded in 1948 and have now been hit with a likely bill of around £4,000.

Fleet's chairman Bryan Sheppard stated that they had no choice but to agree to the order that deemed the sides crest damaging to their own identity, however I believe that considering their position financially we could have helped them out.

Here is what the Chairman had to say;

“We haven’t got a penny to our name, we couldn’t afford to fight it,” he said. “It’s been quite stressful, we just felt really intimidated by the heavy-handed approach. But I can see where they are coming from.”

Let's hope that common sense prevails.
