Tottenham move for game changer?

Last updated : 31 August 2015 By Hoggg

Axel Witsel moved to Zenit in 2012 (much to the surprise of the footballing world). Many clubs have been linked to the Belgian since, but nothing seems to have happened.

Numerous media outlets are now stating that Tottenham are bidding for the international midfielder, but this surprises me.

Signing Son and N'Jie you would expect that Tottenham are fully concentrating on a striker, which is why I cannot see any sense in this rumour. Why would MoPo be looking at another midfielder? The midfield positions are over crowded as it is so for me this is another attempt to use Tottenham to push the price up by a Russian team.

What I will say that surprises me is that comments coming from other club's fans. Well I have this to say to all of the AC Milan fans: You finished 10TH last season, you haven't won anything since you stupidly allowed Pirlo to leave and you have well and truly fallen from the grace. I hope that we play you in the Europa League so we can beat you 3-0 again...... oh wait you didn't get into Europe. For all those AC Milan fans that didn't shoot off because you  were concerned I actually have a lot of respect for Milan (having produced some of the best players in footballing terms).

I expect to see Tottenham move on and get something right and that is balancing the squad with a new striker signing and defensive midfielder (as the current setup isn't right).
