Valencia Loss a Good Thing

I argue no. As it stands the first thing to take into account is that Modric and Parker were not playing. Ok You can argue Modric is is going (however I had released a while back that he will not be going), so we were an under strengthed side.

The reason it is a good thing is that it shows a big issue in that we do not have a strike force. Although Jermain is a favourite of mine he is not a striker to relie on week in week out. What this should highlight to Levy (more importantly than AVB) is how weak the squad has been allowed to get and that money has to be spent (not cheap options) and he must fully support his new manager.

Levy has made this mistake before, but he must spend to save his own face and make sure that the club does not step backwards. If it does the fans and the board will want to cut their ties with him. It is now Levy's last chance saloon here.

Levy had walked a dangerous path in the Redknapp sacking and how he handled it and he must be careful with the fans. A lot of fans (me being one) wanted someone else, but now the bed has been laid by Levy and we must all lay in it, we are all in this together. We cannot drop our support for the club we love, we must support the team and that alone is a great factor to help push the team on (just look to the Cup's as proof of this)

Reports have been coming thick and fast as to players in and players out, but here is what is certainly expected to happen and not.

Things to Listen to:

  1. Modric to stay
  2. Lloris to come
  3. Adebayor to come
  4. Another striker to come (potentially Damiao)

The things not to listen to:

  1. Lennon being swapped
  2. Julio Cesar in (we will not risk another Gomes)
  3. Kyle Naughton to be sold

All in all disappointing last night, but this is the kick up the backside that the staff and owners needed. Weak up front and certain positions need better cover should injuries strike or a sale come in.

Come on you Spurs!
