Who's next?

Firstly I would like to thank AVB for the good work that he has done. AVB was not a poor manager as some would like to paint him as, but he did not seem to learn from the same mistakes made at Chelsea.

My issue with who to employ next is a tough decision though. Do you go with youth and passion or do you go with someone that has experience behind them?

I feel that due to the issues with bringing a young manager on Levy has no option but to go for experience. Names such as Baldini and Hoddle have been mentioned, but I feel you can count them out. Neither would provide the club with the necessary tools to progress and pick up a downtrodden team. Laudrup seems a good manager on the face of things, but again can you risk hiring such a young manager?

Capello seems to be the favorite in most sources eyes, having some success with England and the knowledge of the EPL is what I believe is in people's eyes, but again I would not take the risk. Capello I fear would bring a similar style to the club as AVB, but it simply did not work in the way expected.

For me whoever comes in must have success at the highest level, Champions League as well as league titles.

With this in mind again I cannot help but think only of Frank Rijkaard. He has the experience that the players and clubs need, but importantly he is still young in a manager sense.

We all came to love the style at Barcelona that he begun, he has the experience of working with youngster and developing them, working with senior and world class players, he is also experienced of dealing with the huge pressure of a club (one of Europe’s Giants). Importantly he has a win succession of over 50% (which is something we need).

He did drop out of the limelight after parting with Barca, but I feel he went for the money in the UAE rather than a new challenge. Being without a current job he would be a quick addition and cheaper than making an approach for the likes of Laudrup.

I know what most fans will say though, Laudrup and in some cases (certainly not mine) Di Matteo.

Who the club install as manager will be detrimental to the clubs future and for this reason I cannot see Levy taking a risk again. He has spent big on his signings now he must spend big on a top manager.

What are your thoughts? Forget Sunday's game for the time being it is more about how we move forward now.

Are there any of you that feel that Tim Sherwood should step up? Where does it leave fan favourite Fruend?

There are many questions to ask and the main thing to remember is that it will have to be someone that is willing to work with new DOF Baldini (as he will too expensive to clear out at this stage).
