Why question AVB?

Last updated : 22 March 2013 By Hog

I would first refer you to our start to the season a loss to Newcastle, followed by 2 draws at home to WBA and Norwich. There were a lot of unhappy fans and questions were being asked. If you look at it the stats (AVB's favourite) we have only had a run of 3 bad results, so I expect for us to bounce back again now. After each bad run we have a good run.

I must remind all Spurs fans that although others may not rate AVB it cannot be ignored that the manager is of a similar mould to Mourinho. The only reason that AVB "failed" at Chelsea was simply because of the players not giving him the respect and interfering, which was the same as RA. If AVB was given the time by RA we would not have got a look in.

No manager can fluke their way to an entire cup, they can fluke some games on the way, but not throughout an entire cup.

AVB has manufactured results against Man Utd (we should have had our first double forget just one win), Arsenal, Liverpool and the likes of Lyon. These are games that we would have been unlikely to win under Arry!

You can tell that the team are a more complete team under AVB, if it wasn't for AVB going against his usual tactics we would not have been having this conversation. We were unlucky against Liverpool, got it completely wrong against Inter, but Fulham we have to blame the team as well as AVB.

I cannot understand how fans are questioning AVB? He has shown that he is taking the team forward, but more importantly without taking a step backwards (result wise). If anything it may actually match our best season finish in the EPL.

There is no reason why anyone could question AVB's quality as a manager and it was only his lack of overall experience that allowed him to make a silly change in tactics (something he will learn from). If a manager that has never played football, has less experience managing, can make a team play so well under a complete change in such a short space of time I think the guy is a genius (and would argue that point to the death!).

Look around at the other managers Rafa has had a massive amount spent on a team and is not producing results much better. Wenger is struggling and produced less than AVB this season (to date) and Mancini's seen a massive dip this season (and is always struggling with his man management). I would much rather have AVB over all of those!

Keep the faith and we shall be rewarded! We should have expected some issues on the new managing style and complete overhaul of the backroom staff.

Let's get right behind AVB and stop questioning his ability!
