Why was Lennon allowed to leave?

Last updated : 03 February 2015 By Hoggg

My only reason for Lennon to leave for Everton was if Spurs agreed to a deal with Mirallas. However this never materialised, so why allow it?

Ok Lennon needs playing time, so why not allow him to battle it out with a relegation threatened team and hope that he allows him to rekindle his spark.

To look at it as a fan I like Lennon and am gutted to lose him, but to look at from a business point of view it makes less sense?

Financially Spurs likely gain £1m for a 6 month loan and wages off our books for 6 the remaining 13 EPL games. Not something to set the world on fire over.

For me it shows a big sign of naivety on the board or whoever signed off this deal. Why weaken your side? Surely this is the same transaction as the Ade one and that was halted, so why not this one.

Levy & Co's dealings mystify me and for 6 January's running, Levy & Co have failed to make a wise investment in the run up to the business end of the CL spot chase. Believe it or not I say it time and time again and Levy & Co will never change. Weaken the team, not strengthen it. a big BOOO for that. Learn from your mistakes!

Hopefully its a good talking point to get you all going!
