Shakhtar have moved quickly to buy Taison from Metalist Kharkiv as they have seen an issue arise with their current star Willian.
Willian has at present refused to return to the Ukraine in an attempt to force through a move to London. Chelsea had been linked with the player for a long time, however it is believed that Chelsea dropped out of this race a while back.
It is now being reported that Willian has been in talks with represntatives of Tottenham and are hopeful that a deal can be done between his club and Spurs.
This transfer is yet to hit it’s nasty point as Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu has only just started to air his anger at the player. This is what he had to say on Willian going AWOL;
“I think it was unprofessional of him. The president decided to do everything possible to sign a player of Willian’s level, who already has experience of playing at a high standard. We look forward to having Willian again and I would like him to come back and behave as he did before – as a professional and decent man. I would like him to solve his problems in a civilised manner here in Donetsk, and not by phone. I have great respect for Willian and I would not like him to be put under pressure by the people who surround him, and who perhaps advise him the wrong things. He should reject the advice of those who surround him – they are not doing very good things. With or without Willian, Shakhtar will move on."
This is the clearest sign that we have of the player’s intent and Shakhtar have moved quick to let all parties involved know that they are not happy, but they have already given him an option to return and all will be forgiven.
It’s a dangerous game to play with such a rich club, but those involved believe they have already won with Taison coming in as Willian's replacement.
For me do I believe the rumours? There is sense behind it, AVB has contacts in Brazil as do Tottenham. But given Shakhtar's financial status they may just let the player sit on the bench just to prove a point.
Levy you know what needs to be done to get your man, he's proven his worth so just stump up the cash or pull out and stop teasing us all.
