90min’s Premier League Player of the Month – October: Harry Kane

Many worried that Harry Kane may have peaked in 2017/18. He scored 30 Premier League goals that season and finished it with by winning the Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup.

In the two seasons after that incredible one, the Spurs talisman was restricted by injury problems that forced him to miss chunks of action. He still netted 24 times in all competitions in each, but it was short of the potentially record breaking standards he had previously set himself.

Now, however, a 27-year-old Kane in what should be his peak is fully fit and appears re-born.

Kane started October in superb fashion as Spurs destroyed a weak Manchester United at Old Trafford, inflicting a 6-1 defeat to equal the Red Devils’ worst Premier League home loss.

With an intelligent defence-splitting free-kick he assisted an early goal for Son Heung-min that put Spurs 2-1 in front after only seven minutes. He then netted the team’s third himself, for which he won the ball back, and rounded off the scoring by making it 6-1 from the penalty spot.
