A new hope in stadium saga

The club are considering the possibility of building a new stadium on the trading estate adjacent to White Hart Lane.

The Wingate estate is to the north of the ground, behind Paxton Road and between High Road and Worcester Avenue.

Tottenhamhotspur-mad reported last November that club officials were leaning towards expanding White Hart Lane rather than moving to a new stadium.

Chairman Daniel Levy had also contacted the FA about using Wembley and the possibility of a ground-share with West Ham. With the global credit crunch hampering his plans, Levy may well return to these ideas if building a new stadium appears economically inviable.

The current stadium could be expanded by 15'000 seats but a move to Wingate would facilitate the construction of a stadium with as many as 60'000.
