USWNT global superstar Alex Morgan made her long awaited debut for Tottenham Women during their 1-1 draw with Reading in the WSL on Saturday.
It had been 444 days since Morgan had last stepped foot on the pitch, having given birth to her daughter Charlie in May.
The wait is over, America. ???

The forward signed for Spurs - in just their second season in the top flight - on transfer deadline day, but was yet to be named in WSL match day squad for the north London side.
Attentions were suddenly pricked up as Morgan was named in the Spurs squad for the visit of Reading. Would today be the day?
Excited for my first match officially in with the squad ?? https://t.co/mFRdMFr3uS

But we'd been here before. We'd been led on before. We'd been hurt before.
We all remember the infamous FA Cup quarter final between Tottenham and Arsenal. Morgan, fresh from signing, was named on the bench. And this was where she remained for the full 90 minutes, the camera panning over to her whenever there was a break in play. Morgan having a drink, Morgan wearing a face mask, Morgan looking a bit cold.
But it was to be second time lucky. With the score 1-1 - Brooke Chaplen's strike cancelled out by an Ashleigh Neville header - Morgan was introduced.
She entered the fray with 21 minutes of normal time remaining, the 169-time USWNT international replacing 22-year-old former Millwall striker Rianna Dean.

She may be a two-time World Cup winner, an Olympic champion and PETA's Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrity 2019, but could she do it on a mild Saturday afternoon in Barnet?
It was the visitors who were pushing for the winner, with Spurs largely camped in their own half in an attempt to hang on to a hard fought point against a decent Reading side.
As a result, Morgan saw very little of the ball and was unable to exert her world class quality on the game - understandable given she hasn't played competitively for 15 months and was given a 21 minute cameo with Spurs holding out for a draw.
Alex Morgan picks up 20 minutes for @SpursWomen and not too much to go on for a real look at her form yet, but very encouraging to finally see her on the field after the small setback pushed back her debut.

Too good to be true? A scrappy game to come on with both teams fighting to get in front. When Alex came on Tottenham were desperate to go forward and get the ball to her

Might see Alex play better when she’s able to settle into the match and Spurs have a consistent rhythm
Although it was a short, quiet debut, the minutes in her legs will be hugely beneficial - especially with some beginning to speculate whether Morgan would feature at all for Spurs before her short term contract is up.
And the 31-year-old at least provided plenty of entertainment on Twitter, as her mother tweeted a selection of pro Donald Trump tweets during the election and she threatened to unfollow her.
1 more and that warrants an unfollow

Alex Morgan telling her mum she’ll unfollow her if she tweets another tweet about Trump is such a MOOD. ?

So a point for Spurs and a political win for Morgan.
It’s no coincidence that Biden is elected on the day that @alexmorgan13 plays for @SpursWomen
