The Serie A outfit already reached an agreement with the 20-year-old striker last month but the deal has yet to be finalised.

Tottenham were also reportedly ready to prise the young Spaniard from Roma.

"I am experiencing a bittersweet situation," said Krkic to Corriere dello Sport.

"It's not easy to leave Barcelona but in any case I feel fortunate.

"I'm only 20 and I know I still will be able to achieve many things in football.

"Roma are very interested in me and it could be a great experience.

"I have not spoken to (new Roma coach) Luis Enrique but I know he is keen having me.

"Italian football is respected all over the world and an experience in Serie A would be good for my career."

Bojan, who struggled to get regular first team football at Barca, is set to join Roma in a 10million euros transfer deal and is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Serie A outfit.

Roma will be coached next season by former Barcelona B manager Luis Enrique.
