Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview: How to Watch on TV, Live Stream, Kick Off Time & Team News

Bournemouth desperately need a win to kick-start their survival bid when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Vitality Stadium on Thursday.

The Cherries have picked up just one point in their last eight games, which has left them four points from safety with just five games remaining.

Josh King scores a penalty in a 5-2 defeat against former club Manchester United

The visitors travel to the south coast knowing that a victory will take them into seventh place, leapfrogging bitter rivals Arsenal.

Spurs have had mixed fortunes since the restart. Home victories against West Ham and Everton were tainted by a very poor display in the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United.

Team News

Steve Cook may be available to return to the Bournemouth side

Central defender Steve Cook may return to the starting lineup for the Cherries after missing the defeat at Old Trafford with a hamstring injury. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that Cook's injury has 'improved to a degree'.

England international Dele Alli may also return, after a hamstring problem saw him left out of the squad in the 1-0 win over Everton – but Eric Dier will serve the first game of his four-match suspension for clambering into the crowd against Norwich before the break.

Predicted Lineups

Bournemouth: Ramsdale; Smith, Ake, Kelly, Rico; Brooks, Lerma, L. Cook, Stanislas; C. Wilson, King.

Tottenham: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Sissoko, Lo Celso; Bergwijn, Lamela, Son; Kane.

Recent Form

The home side are in desperate need of a win, having registered just one point in their previous eight games.

The defence in particular has been a problem for Eddie Howe's men, who are still yet to keep a clean sheet in 2020, their last shutout coming against Chelsea in December.

Bournemouth have conceded nine goals in their previous two games

The visitors have picked up seven points in four games since the restart, with wins against West Ham and Everton, a draw against Manchester United, and a 3-1 defeat at Bramall Lane.

Prior to the coronavirus lockdown, Spurs had failed to win in six games - a run that saw the north London side get knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup.

Here is how both sides have fared in their last five games.

Bournemouth
Manchester United 5-2 Bournemouth (04/07)
Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle United (01/07)
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Bournemouth (24/06)
Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace (20/06)
Liverpool 2-1 Bournemouth (07/03)

Michael Keane's own goal proves decisive in Spurs' last fixture

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham 1-0 Everton (06/07)
Sheffield United 3-1 Tottenham (02/07)
Tottenham 2-0 West Ham United (23/06)
Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United (19/06)
RB Leipzig 3-0 Tottenham (10/03)

Prediction

Desperate times for Eddie Howe

Spurs have often got the better of the Cherries, having won seven of the last nine encounters between the two sides. However, Bournemouth emerged victorious from their last meeting at the Vitality with a late Nathan Ake header.

Bournemouth are leaking goals right now, and up against the division's fifth-highest scoring team, don't expect that to change on Thursday.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-4 Tottenham Hotspur
